Fonseca
Fonseca
Fonseca, the highly regarded Port house, renowned for its acclaimed vintage ports and producer of a wide range of Port wines, was founded in 1815, by the Fonseca and Monteiro families before being sold to the Guimaraens family in the latter part of the 19th century. Taking grapes from three quintas in the Douro Valley region of Portugal, Fonseca is best known for the quality of its vintage Ports, which exude black fruits, spice and excellent structure. Despite ownership being held by the Taylor`s Port company since 1949, Fonseca continues to operate independently.
