Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie
Two brothers, John William Mathesen established the Glenmorangie distillery in 1843 near Tain, Ross-shire, on a site that is believed to have had a distillery on it since the early 18th century. The ambitious plans of Glenmorangie began to be realised in the latter part of the 18th century when exports to the United States and Europe began. Known for a lighter Highland style, Glenmorangie has a range of different wood finishes that impart distinctive flavour to each expression. Be sure to put the stress on the second syllable when pronouncing Glenmorangie and if you are a lover of eye-catching copper stills, the striking examples in the still house at Glenmorangie will not disappoint.
