Kaiken
Kaiken
Kaiken, a new label, is the first Argentine venture of Aurelio Montes, the respected wine maker of the Chilean Vina Montes, producers of the Montes Alpha wines. The wines are produced from purchased grapes sourced from several different vineyards in the Tupungato area of Mendoza, and are being made at a leased winery facility. Montes plans to acquire his own vineyard in Argentina after determining where the best fruits are produced. His philosophy is the production of wines with true character, personality, elegance and expression. Kaiken is a Mapuche Indian word for a Patagonian goose that, appropriately, lives on both sides of the Andes. These wines are well worth trying, and offer pure fruit varietal expressions of quality South American wines.
