Krug
Krug
Krug was established in 1843 by German, Johann-Joseph Krug. The house owns 20 hectares of vines in Ay, Le Mesnil and Trepail with long term contracts with growers to provide the rest of the grapes for production. Krug`s growers consider themselves part of a long-standing prestigious group that openly reveal Krug as the destination of their grapes. All Krug`s wines are meticulously produced and hand-picked Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes are pressed and fermented in oak barrels. The second fermentation on yeast lees lasts at least five years. One of the great Champagnes, Krug is renowned for producing rich, complex wines with intense aromas, heady flavours and fresh acidity.
