Spanish estate Marques de Riscal is one of the oldest Rioja wineries and was founded in 1858 in Elciego by Guillermo Hurtado de Amézaga. From the very beginning it has been at the international vanguard of Spanish wine production. Marques de Riscal is known for being an innovate, pioneering cellar and seek to make wines that are original, fresh and easy to drink. Today, Marques de Riscal wine can be found in almost 100 countries around the world and they export 60% of their output. The Rioja wines are made from grapes grown on vines over 15 years old and spend approximately two years in oak barrels to produce a classic Rioja style, with much of the vineyard planting devoted to Tempranillo.
