Val di Toro
Val di Toro
Val di Toro is located at Poggio la Mozza in Maremma, Tuscany. In 2004, husband and wife Anna Maria Cruciata and Hugh Constable Maxwell planted the vineyard on the well ventilated and mineral rich sandstone soils. The Val di Toro vineyard has about 6,000 vines planted per hectare with a total of 25 hectares. With an enthusiasm for viticulture, they have a strong respect for the land and the environment whilst maintaining high quality. During the summer a vigorous green harvest is carried out to eliminate excess bunches and to concentrate the nutrition towards the remaining grapes. Most of the work in the fields, including the harvest, is done by hand.
