Vega Sicilia is Spain’s finest red wine, its `Grand Cru Classe` or `First Growth` if you like, located in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. Founded in 1864 and planted with cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec from Bordeaux, along with a clone of Tempranillo, Vega Sicilia began to gather international steam at the beginning of the 20th century. Currently owned by the Alvarez family, the estate ensures its formidable position through its dedication to meticulous vineyard practice, exceptional fruit, and immaculate winemaking.
