Vieux Chateau Certan is one of the oldest, most prestigious Chateaux in Pomerol, on the right bank of Bordeaux, France. It has an indisputable reputation as one of the leading Pomerol wines, and this view has been held for at least 150 years. The vineyard of 14 hectares is planted with 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. These are taut and sophisticated, yet expressive wines, created since 1924 by the well-known Thienpont family, whose inter-generational philosophy of minimal intervention aand respect for the origin of their excellent fruit makes for wines of world-class quality.
