Ireland`s Waterford Distillery was founded back in 2015 by Mark Reynier, formerly the co-owner of Bruichladdich. Interestingly, the distillery is actually a converted brewery which had previously produced that well-known Irish stout, Guinness. These days, whiskey is the drink of choice being made at Waterford, with a focus on local barley, showing that terroir most definitely has an impact on the final spirit.
