Echezeaux
One of the largest Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, Echezeaux is a 40-hectare vineyard in the Cote de Nuits, producing wines exclusively from Pinot Noir. Typically made in a rich, full-bodied style, the wines of Echezaux exhibit bright red fruit and plenty of spice and savoury character. In such a broad vineyard, despite its status, some plots will be in higher regard than others. En Orveau and Echezeaux du Dessus are two of the better quality lieux-dits to look out for, as their position on the upper-mid slope of the vineyard exposes them to the best of the stony, thin soils.
