Cotes de Bordeaux Francs
Cotes de Bordeaux Francs
The vineyards of three villages - Saint-Cibard, Tayac and Francs, make up the Cotes de Bordeaux Francs appellation, which was created in 2009. Several kilometres north of the Dordogne river, approximately halfway between the cities of Bordeaux and Bergerac, Cotes de Bordeaux Francs produces both dry sweet red and white wines, from the classic Bordeaux varieties. Merlot is predominant on the clay-limestone slopes around the appellation and is used most often with Cabernet Franc to provide a rich, soft red which offers great value.
