Vasse Felix 'Filius' Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River, Australia 2019
History: Established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity, Vasse Felix is Margaret River`s founding wine estate. One of the great wine regions of the world, Margaret River enjoys a truly unique environment and climate which makes it a paradise for winemakers and wine lovers alike. From the first plantings, right up to the modern day, Vasse Felix have always strived to explore and express the very best of the Margaret River region. Vasse Felix has four distinct and exceptional sites around the Margaret River region. Each vineyard is matched to the best possible varieties and clones, and farmed sustainably using traditional and organic practices
Taste: Filius is the little brother of the Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon. It carries the structure, power and tannins of classic Cabernet Sauvignon in an earlier drinking, succulent style from fruit sourced from each of the Vasse Felix vineyards. A sophisticated Cabernet with a savoury aroma of forest floor, mushroom and leather leading to fragrant notes of blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry. A smooth and velvety palate with cassis, baked plums, cocoa and cigar box character, medium weight with fine, elegant tannins.
Enjoy: Try pairing this with a classic dish of Steak with a red wine, bone marrow and tarragon sauce. Also great with hard cheeses and barbequed meat.

Argiano Non Confunditur Toscana IGT, Italy 2019
History: The Argiano estate has been at the heart of winemaking in Montalcino since the 16th century and has played a pivotal role in establishing Brunello as one of the world’s finest wines, Non Confunditor is a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese blend. Round, ripe and juicy... think Rosso di Montalcino meets baby Super-Tuscan!
Taste: Vibrant yet complex nose of both red and black fruit with hints of black truffle shavings. Ripe, juicy and generous on the palate thanks to silky, firm tannins that wrap around a core of more blackcurrant and cassis fused with layers of freshly ground coffee and black loose-leaf tea. A restrained touch of oak and medium tannin completes a delicious wine that retains freshness.

Joseph Cattin Hatschbourg Gewurztraminer Alsace Grand Cru, France 2017
History: The Cattin estate is one of the largest family-owned concerns in Alsace with holdings throughout the region. The first references to the Hatschbourg vineyard go back as far as the twelfth century and by the thirteenth century the wines had already gained a reputation for quality and exports to northern Europe started in the 1600’s.
Taste: Rich and concentrated, this Grand Cru Gewurztraminer is an excellent food wine, with aromatic spice and exotic fruit to the fore. Time in oak adds a delicate complexity and the full-bodied palate leads on to a vibrant, fresh finish. Deep gold colour with rich aromas of lychee and candied tropical fruits and rose water. Spicy, concentrated exotic fruits dominate the palate with a round, full body and long-lasting fresh finish.
Enjoy: Pair with a traditional Tarte Flambee; an Alsatian speciality with resembles a very thin pizza of onions and bacon. German roast pork knuckle would also be a great match.

Castello Banfi Gavi Principessa Gavia, Italy 2021
History: Gavi is one of Italy’s most celebrated wines and comes from a southern part of Piedmont. Vineyards have been recorded in the area since 972AD and the Cortese grape, from which Gavi is made, is first mentioned in 1659. Genoese merchants were amongst the most powerful in Europe, vying with the Venetians for supremacy. Food and wine have always been an important part of the culture.
The Castello Banfi estate is the largest contiguous vineyard in Europe and includes land in Tuscany and Piedmont. At the centre of the estate, at 280 metres above sea-level, is the Castello, historically known as Poggio alle Mura, meaning walled hill top, which is now a centre for Banfi wines following extensive restoration by the Mariani family to repair damage sustained during World War Two.
Taste: This wine is well balanced with gentle acidity and intense fruit flavours of pineapple and green apple. A delicate, dry finish.
